Chocolate Ice Cream

Want to make ice-cream? Don’t have an ice-cream maker? Well this is the recipe for you. This recipe is very simple, tastes great and ...I came up with it myself!

Now normally I am very happy to follow someone else recipe, however on this occasion the recipe I was trying to follow was a bit of a dud. The instructions were not great and when I went to mix the ingredients in together, well it just didn’t work. This left me with only  a small amount of sugar, eggs, and cream and a big desire to still make some ice-cream. Solution, come up with my own recipe.  So after looking at some common elements in ice-cream recipes this is what I came up with.

Chocolate Ice Cream

Makes: 4 serves
Ingredients:
100g caster sugar
3 egg yolks
2tbs coco powder-sifted
300g cream-soft peaks

Directions:
Line a small slice tin with glad wrap.
Place cream in a bowl and whisk until soft peaks form. In a stand mixer pour in the sugar and egg yolks and mix until the sugar and yolks come together. Stir in the sifted coco powder.  Gently fold the cream into the mixture using a spatula.

Pour mixture into lined tin and place in the freezer for approx 2-3 hours.
